Day 1: Arrival in Copenhagen

Welcome to Copenhagen! Arriving early is highly recommended to make the most of your first day. Start your exploration by visiting the iconic pastel-coloured waterfront houses in Nyhavn. Enjoy a drink at one of the industrial-chic bars or take a leisurely stroll through the famous Tivoli Gardens, home to the world’s oldest rollercoaster. Another notable area to explore is Nørrebro, a vibrant residential district renowned for its diverse range of restaurants.

Meet your group at 6:00 PM for a welcome meeting. For those interested, an optional group dinner will follow.

Special Information:
The adventure kicks off with a welcome meeting at 6:00 PM. Please check the hotel lobby or inquire at the reception for the location of the meeting. If you're running late, kindly inform the hotel reception. Be prepared to provide your insurance details and next of kin information at this meeting. If you're unable to arrive in time, consider arriving a day early. Additional accommodation can be arranged upon request (subject to availability).

Day 2: Copenhagen

Experience Copenhagen from a different perspective. Join a local guide from Street Voices, a socially responsible company dedicated to enhancing the lives of socially vulnerable people, as they lead you through the hidden corners of the city. Learn about the everyday struggles of the locals and their unwritten street rules. The afternoon is free to explore the city further. You may wish to visit the majestic Amalienborg Palace, the Marble Church (Frederik's Church), or the National Museum. In the summer, locals enjoy cooling off in the free harbor baths, which you can visit as well.

Special Information:
Hotel rooms in Scandinavia tend to be smaller and more basic compared to other European destinations.

Day 3: Malmo / Gothenburg

Take a scenic morning train ride to Malmo in Sweden, crossing the famous Oresund Bridge that links Denmark and Sweden. Your leader will guide you through Malmö’s Old Town, sharing its rich history. The city has undergone a significant transformation in the past two decades, thanks in part to the bridge and the establishment of Malmö University. Afterward, continue to Gothenburg by train or bus, where you'll spend the night.

Special Information:
Accommodation in Gothenburg features shared communal bathrooms. The city holds an official eco-certification and is regarded as one of the greenest destinations globally.

Day 4: Vrango Island / Gothenburg

Enjoy an early ferry ride to Vrango Island, the southernmost island of the Gothenburg Archipelago. With a population of just a few hundred, Vrango is known for its fishing industry, stunning beaches, and protected nature reserves. Depending on the season, you can participate in a kayaking excursion (May–September), or enjoy an extended guided island tour. Afterward, return to Gothenburg for a free evening.

Kayaking activities are available during summer (May to September) and are weather-dependent.

Day 5: Gothenburg

Today, head to Alingsas, the "Capital of Fika," where you'll join a local expert to visit some of the town’s best traditional cafes. Learn about Sweden's café culture and sample famous Swedish cinnamon buns, pastries, and more. After returning to Gothenburg, spend the afternoon exploring the city at your leisure. Consider visiting the Goteborg City Museum, shopping along Avenyn, or exploring the charming Haga district.

Day 6: Oslo

Catch a morning bus to Oslo, Norway’s capital. After an initial orientation walk with your group leader, enjoy an afternoon of independent exploration. You can visit Maschmanns Food Market, explore the Munch Museum, or simply stroll along Karl Johans Gate. In the evening, join your group for dinner and toast your travels with a traditional Norwegian drink.

Day 7: Oslo

Today is free for you to explore Oslo at your leisure. Visit the iconic Oslo Opera House, stroll through Vigeland Park, or take a ferry to the Viking Ship Museum. In the evening, join your new group for drinks or dinner and get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 8: Oslo

Your group leader will take you on another orientation walk, after which you’ll have free time to explore. You may want to embark on island hopping across Oslofjord, visit the Astrup Fearnley Museum, or explore Akershus Castle & Fortress. Alternatively, visit the Grunerløkka district, known for its cool shops and street art.

Day 9: Bergen

Take the scenic train ride from Oslo to Bergen, crossing lush valleys and dramatic mountains. The journey offers spectacular views, and you’ll arrive late in Bergen, where there will be limited time for exploration today. Consider joining the group for a seafood dinner.

Day 10: Bergen

Start the day with a ride on the Fløibanen funicular, which takes you 1,050 feet above Bergen for panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The rest of the day is free for you to explore, with options such as visiting Bryggen, the Hanseatic Museum, or hiking one of the area’s scenic trails.

Day 11: Norwegian Fjords

Depart Bergen and travel to the fjord region. The bus journey offers breathtaking views of the Norwegian landscape, culminating at Gudvangen, where you'll spend the night. The cabins offer a unique and peaceful setting with views of Kjelsfossen waterfall.

 

Day 12: Norwegian Fjords

Embark on a boat trip through Naeroyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll pass by steep mountain peaks and waterfalls. In the village of Flam, you can either ride the famous Flam Railway or explore on foot. Return to Gudvangen in the afternoon for a free evening.

Day 13: Lillehammer

After breakfast, travel to Lillehammer, famous for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. Upon arrival, enjoy an orientation walk through the charming town, known for its picturesque wooden houses and boutiques.

This morning, visit the Maihaugen Open Air Museum, which offers a glimpse into Norway’s past with preserved historic buildings and the iconic Garmo Stave Church. The afternoon is free for you to explore Lillehammer’s outdoor activities, including hiking or visiting the Olympic Museum.

Day 15: Vikarbyn

Travel to Rattvik in Sweden, nestled in the heart of Dalarna County. Known for its picturesque lakes, this peaceful town offers a perfect introduction to Swedish culture and history.

Take a guided village tour of the area, where you’ll learn about the history and traditions of the villages around Lake Siljan. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to your accommodation for a relaxing afternoon. You may also choose to explore the local area on foot, by boat, or with a canoe.

Day 17: Stockholm

Leave behind the serene Swedish lakes and make your way to Stockholm, the cultural, political, and economic heart of Sweden. Often referred to as the "Venice of the North" and considered one of Scandinavia's most beautiful cities, Stockholm boasts stunning architecture, lush parks, and clear waters.

Upon arrival, enjoy an orientation walk to familiarize yourself with the city. Use the rest of the day to settle into your accommodation and explore the surrounding area. One unique experience to consider is visiting Stockholm’s subway system, known as the world’s longest art exhibition. With over 140 artists contributing their work, the 100 stations offer an impressive showcase of modern art.

Take a stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets of the city and admire the vibrant merchant houses. For a sweet treat, why not indulge in a traditional Swedish cinnamon roll at Sundbergs Konditori, located on Järntorget Square, which dates back to 1785?

Day 18: Stockholm

The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore Stockholm at your own pace.
